The Guatimala specialty beans are characterized by classic notes of chocolate and hazelnut, meticulously washed to preserve their authentic flavors.

Guatemala – San Marcos coffee comes in 250 gram or 1kg bags, featuring whole beans freshly roasted in our roastery in Saudi Arabia to deliver an extraordinary coffee journey.

The History of Coffee in Guatemala

Coffee cultivation in Guatemala began in the 18th century but became a major crop in the mid-19th century due to growing global demand. Coffee significantly contributes to the national economy thanks to ideal climate conditions and rich volcanic soil. Guatemalan coffee is known for its high quality and complex flavors, considered among the best worldwide, thanks to cooperatives' efforts to maintain quality and sustainable practices.

Guatemala Coffee Features

Guatemala Classic – San Marcos coffee is known for its high quality, as it comes from one of the oldest and richest coffee-growing regions in Guatemala. Grown in nutrient-rich volcanic soil, it is fully washed and sun-dried, resulting in a clean and balanced flavor. It is renowned for its perfect balance and creamy body, making it a favorite among specialty coffee lovers. This coffee is often produced through sustainable practices that support small farmers and comply with fair trade standards.

At Mared Coffee, we inspect and roast our coffee daily to ensure the highest quality standards. We then package it in special bags equipped with one-way valves that preserve the flavor and ensure the coffee arrives fresh with its unique taste.

Guatemala Coffee Quality Certifications.

Guatemalan coffee carries several prestigious quality certifications, such as Fair Trade, which ensures support for farmers, and Organic certification, which guarantees the coffee is free from chemicals. It may also be Rainforest Alliance Certified, ensuring sustainable farming practices that protect the environment.

Additionally, the coffee is graded by the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) and classified as specialty coffee if it scores above 80 points. It may also bear the Anacafé seal, confirming its origin from one of Guatemala’s official coffee regions, reflecting its authenticity and high quality.
